About the Role Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Designer – Process Equipment to join their Engineering team. This role plays a key part in supporting their Cyclones and Mill Systems business by delivering innovative design solutions for process equipment, tooling, and related products.
Working closely with engineering, product management, and manufacturing teams, you will lead the design of specialised mineral processing equipment while ensuring solutions are safe, fit-for-purpose, compliant, and cost-effective.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design of process equipment and tooling solutions.
- Develop solutions for:
- Cyclone clusters and non-standard cyclone components
- Flat Bottom Classifiers and Attrition Cells
- Mill lining components and tooling
- Moulded products and associated tooling
- Deliver high-quality engineering outcomes within project timelines.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance across engineering projects.
- Ensure designs meet customer requirements, engineering standards, and regulatory obligations.
- Support manufacturing teams with practical and cost-effective design solutions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and customers to solve complex technical challenges.
- Mentor and support other team members when required.
- Champion safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Associate Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in mechanical design within mining, mineral processing, or heavy industry environments.
- Strong knowledge of steel fabrication, welding, rubber moulding, and related manufacturing processes.
- Advanced CAD and 3D solid modelling experience.
- Sound understanding of Australian and ISO engineering standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and time management skills.
- Experience with NX, Teamcenter, and AutoCAD.
- Experience with wear-resistant linings, mining equipment, and slurry handling systems.
