This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with a diverse client portfolio while further developing your advisory capabilities within a respected and innovative professional services firm. Based in modern Newcastle CBD offices, you will work alongside experienced Partners and Managers, providing practical accounting, taxation, and business advisory solutions that help clients achieve their goals.
Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Partner/Director of Business Services & Tax, you will:
- Manage client engagements and workflow to ensure deadlines are achieved
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Prepare financial statements and tax compliance work for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals
- Provide advisory support across tax planning, business restructuring, and cash flow management
- Assist Managers and Partners with complex taxation and advisory matters
- Ensure technical accuracy and compliance with relevant legislative and ATO requirements
- Identify opportunities to provide broader strategic and financial solutions to clients
About You
- You are an experienced Accountant who is passionate about delivering high-quality outcomes for clients and looking to take the next step in your career within Business Services & Tax.
- With strong technical skills, commercial acumen, and excellent communication abilities, you enjoy building trusted relationships and partnering with clients to help them succeed.
Qualifications
- Degree qualification in Accounting
- CA qualified or currently completing CA studies
Skills & Experience
- 4-5 years' experience within a public practice or chartered accounting environment
- Strong taxation knowledge across corporate, trust, partnership, and individual structures
- Experience preparing financial statements for both reporting and non-reporting entities
- Strong accounting and technical capability
- Commercially minded with the ability to identify risks and opportunities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to build rapport and understand client needs
- Experience using Xero and other cloud accounting platforms
