Gove Peninsula, NT | 3:1 FIFO | Major Demolition Project
We are seeking highly experienced Excavator Operators with proven Rock Hammer attachment experience to join a major industrial demolition project at the Gove Refinery in the Northern Territory.
This role is ideal for operators who excel in precision hammer work, breaking down large reinforced concrete structures safely and efficiently within a high-performance team.
🔨 About the Role
You will play a critical role in demolition operations, with a strong focus on rock hammer attachment work, including:
- Operating Volvo 38T, 48T, 75T and Hitachi 890 excavators
- Extensive use of Rock Hammer attachments to break and process reinforced concrete foundations
- Precision demolition of heavy industrial structures
- Material downsizing, concrete screening, and loadout
- Working across multiple active demolition zones
- Maintaining productivity while adhering to strict safety protocols
- 3:1 FIFO roster (RDO on Day 14)
- 10-hour shifts
- FIFO from QLD, NSW, and VIC
- Accommodation, meals, and flights provided
- 3–4 month project with potential for extension
- Work on a large-scale industrial decommissioning project
- Supportive, safety-driven team environment
- $60.00 – $72.00 per hour(depending on experience, inclusive of 25% casual loading)
- Weekly pay cycle

Mandatory:
- Proven, recent experience operating excavators with Rock Hammer attachments (essential)
- Demonstrated experience in demolition and/or heavy civil environments
- Excavator ticket with strong operational competency
- Construction White Card
- Valid Australian Driver’s Licence
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical
- Full Australian working rights
- Experience with large excavators (50T+) in demolition environments
- Additional machinery experience (Moxy, Haul Truck, Skid Steer)
- HR/HC Licence
