Risk & Compliance Officer
Location: North Sydney
Work Type: 12-month contract | Part-time (3 days per week)

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Risk and Compliance professional to join a growing fintech organisation within the consumer lending sector.

This role offers the chance to play a key part in managing and enhancing risk and compliance frameworks across lending operations and merchant distribution channels. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance while supporting business growth in a fast-paced and highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and assess operational, credit, and conduct risks
  • Maintain risk registers, control frameworks, and incident logs
  • Perform risk assessments across merchants and internal processes
  • Conduct control testing across lending workflows
  • Support incident investigations and remediation actions
  • Prepare risk reports for governance forums
  • Monitor adherence to NCCP, ASIC guidelines, AML/CTF, and Privacy regulations
  • Conduct compliance reviews across lending processes and documentation
  • Track regulatory updates and support implementation
  • Assist with breach reporting and regulatory submissions
  • Review product and customer communications for compliance
  • Support onboarding, due diligence, and periodic reviews
  • Monitor merchant compliance with distribution obligations
  • Investigate and escalate non-compliance issues
  • Partner with sales teams to improve compliance standards
About You
  • Experience in risk, compliance, or audit within financial services or fintech
  • Strong knowledge of consumer lending regulations
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and compliance reviews
  • Strong analytical and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Relevant degree in Business, Finance, Law, or similar
