Location: Officer, VIC
Duration: 8-week temporary assignment
Rate:$38 per hour + Super

We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Rates Officer to provide short-term operational support to a busy Rating Services team during the peak rates period.
This role will assist in maintaining service levels and ensuring a high standard of customer service is delivered while managing increased volumes of enquiries and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the Rating Services team
  • Respond to customer enquiries relating to rates and property information
  • Process rates administration transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Maintain and update records within council systems
  • Assist with the preparation and processing of rates notices and associated documentation
  • Support the team in managing increased workloads during the peak rates period
  • Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders as required
  • Ensure compliance with council policies, procedures, and legislative requirements
About You
  • Experience in rates administration or a similar administrative role
  • Previous local government experience (highly regarded)
  • Strong customer service and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and data entry accuracy
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office Suite and corporate systems
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities
