We're seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Clerk to join a busy procurement team based in Newcastle CBD. This is an initial 6-month contract, with the potential for extension and, for the right candidate, an opportunity to transition into a permanent or fixed-term position.
This role is ideal for someone looking to establish a long-term career in purchasing while gaining experience in a collaborative, high-performing team supporting a major ERP transformation.
About the RoleReporting to the Purchasing team, you'll provide high-quality transactional procurement support and work closely with procurement, inventory, finance, and operational stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing vendor onboarding and maintaining vendor master data
- Converting approved Purchase Requisitions (PRs) into Purchase Orders (POs)
- Processing purchasing requests and purchase order amendments
- Following up suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services
- Managing a shared purchasing inbox and responding to supplier and stakeholder enquiries
- Maintaining accurate purchasing records and generating reports
- Providing administrative support to the purchasing team
- Delivering outstanding customer service to internal stakeholders
- Previous experience in purchasing, procurement administration, or purchasing support
- Experience processing Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders
- SAP experience (or exposure to a similar ERP system)
- Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- $40/hour + Super
- Monday to Friday | 8:00am – 4:30pm(Flexiable start times)
- Newcastle CBD location
- Opportunity to work from home one day per week following the initial training period
