Our client, a leading government agency, is seeking an experienced Purchasing Advisor to join their Procurement Services team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a large and complex organisation, supporting the sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management of a broad range of goods and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Purchase goods, materials, components, and services in line with cost, quality, and delivery requirements.
  • Review and verify shopping carts for the acquisition of goods and services, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Review robotic-generated purchase orders and release approved purchase orders.
  • Source quotations and bids from suppliers and prepare procurement recommendations.
  • Build, maintain, and manage professional supplier relationships.
  • Monitor supplier performance and prepare reports on spend and procurement activities.
  • Identify and establish preferred and pre-qualified suppliers.
  • Negotiate pricing and commercial terms to achieve value-for-money outcomes.
  • Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors to resolve purchasing and delivery issues.
  • Maintain accurate procurement data within SAP MM and SRM e-Procurement systems.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Proven experience providing procurement and purchasing services within a large commercial or government organisation.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP MM and e-Procurement systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in supplier and contractor evaluation, sourcing, and goods procurement.
  • Sound understanding of contemporary procurement principles and practices.
  • Strong negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and relationship management skills.
