Our client is a highly respected contractor delivering complex projects across Australia's industrial, resources and infrastructure sectors. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of major industrial projects.
This is a rare opportunity for a proven project leader to take ownership of significant projects while leading large multidisciplinary teams in challenging operational environments.
The Role
Reporting to the Project Director, the Project Manager will have full accountability for the safe, commercial and operational performance of assigned projects.
Leading teams of approximately 50–70 personnel, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall accountability for the safe, profitable and successful delivery of major projects.
- Lead and develop multidisciplinary project teams, supervisors, engineers and subcontractors.
- Drive project performance across safety, programme, cost, quality and client satisfaction.
- Manage project budgets, forecasting, cost control and financial reporting.
- Oversee contract administration, variations, claims and commercial risk management.
- Develop and manage project schedules including critical path analysis and recovery planning.
- Build and maintain strong client, subcontractor and stakeholder relationships.
- Identify and mitigate project risks while maintaining robust project controls.
- Ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory and governance requirements.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, teamwork and safety excellence.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- 10+ years' Project Management experience delivering major industrial projects.
- A proven track record managing projects valued from $20M to $100M +.
- Strong experience within oil & gas, mining, energy, heavy industrial, construction or industrial services environments.
- Exceptional commercial acumen, including contract management, variations, claims and profitability oversight.
- Advanced financial management skills covering budgeting, forecasting, cost control and reporting.
- Strong project planning and scheduling capability, including critical path and recovery planning.
- Demonstrated success leading large multidisciplinary teams and subcontractor workforces.
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement and client relationship management skills.
- Exceptional safety leadership credentials within high-hazard environments.
- Strong negotiation, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Degree qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline preferred.
- PMP or equivalent Project Management qualification highly regarded.
- Strong understanding of project governance, HSEQ systems and risk management frameworks.
