We are looking for a number of  Project Leaders  for our  Sustaining Capital - Infrastructure  team.

The  Project Leader  is responsible for planning and coordinating the study stages of projects, including the management of all technical, commercial, and licence to operate areas. Accountable for safe and successful delivery of the study and its business case by ensuring the results meet risk, technical, quality, cost, and schedule requirements (as per the relevant Study guidelines).

Key projects/studies include:
  • Evans Landing Landfill – Cell 3 detailed design (FS) and Leachate/Pond 2 Evaluation (PFS).
  • Evans Landing Camp Upgrade – FS to increase camp capacity.
  • Weipa Town Water – OoM/PFS to evaluate options for water supply, transport and treatment, and sewerage system upgrades, to meet drinking water guidelines and population growth.
  • Radio Towers – Detailed design, including earthworks and civils, for new radio towers.  
Reporting to the Portfolio Lead – Infrastructure, accountabilities will include:

Key Accountabilities
  • Works with the team to develop and implement Study scope, estimates and plans in accordance with the business and regulatory guidelines.
  • Collaborates with the team to develop and implement an effective stakeholder engagement plan through the life of the Study (project).
  • Monitors and reports all relevant Study (project) performance indicators to meet business requirements.
  • Manages relationships with key Study (project) stakeholders.
  • Identifies and escalates any Study (project) delivery performance issues in a timely manner.
  • Provides suggestions to the team on improvements to Study (project) delivery methods.
About you

To succeed in this role, you will have:
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering
  • 5-10 years experience, preferably in the mining industry
  • Self-managed/contractor experience – preferred  
  • Infrastructure project experience, including water, wastewater and landfill facilities – preferred
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • High level of computer literacy - use of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Willingness to work a flexible FIFO work schedule.
  • Strong commitment to safety.
Skills:
  • Must be able to showcase an efficient work ethic with a proactive attitude.
  • Analytical thinking and problem solving.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must display a high level of personal integrity.
  • Project delivery experience in a similar role in the mining construction industry would be highly regarded.
  • Identify and manage all relevant and identified risks and opportunities.
