Project Engineer
- Perth city based role
- Monday – Friday 40 hour week roster.
- 12 month contract initially
- Tier One Iron Ore Miner
Key Responsibilities
- Develop Design Criteria: Establish project-specific requirements and ensure all designs meet these specifications.
- Prepare Engineering Scopes of Work: Define clear and detailed tasks for engineering service providers (ESP) to follow.
- Conduct Technical Evaluations: Assess the technical feasibility and cost-effectiveness of project proposals and designs.
- Manage ESP Engagements & Performance: Manage and evaluate engineering service providers for individual scopes, including their adherence to contracts and performance benchmarks.
- Act as Liaison: Facilitate communication and project coordination between the company and external entities like engineering service providers.
- Ensure Conformance to Standards: Regularly check that all external engineering work complies with company and regulatory standards.
- Oversee Engineering Deliverables: Manage the review and delivery of accurate engineering documents and drawings.
- Facilitate Value Engineering: Facilitate the value engineering process to deliver capital efficiencies and fit for purpose design.
- Perform Design Reviews: Technically review engineering drawings and coordinate drawing review process with relevant stakeholders, including SME's
- Resolve Technical Queries: Promptly address and solve any technical issues or questions from external providers.
- Quality Assurance: Review QA documents before / during implementation - ITP’s. Attend FAT/SAT as required, and/or coordinate SME attendance.
- Commissioning Planning: Develop commissioning tasks and participate in commissioning as required
- Coaching: Specialist Engineers will coach and mentor Project Engineers as required to develop talent
- Engineering Knowledge: Proficiency in engineering practices, including the preparation and review of engineering specifications, scopes, and drawings.
- Project Management: Strong awareness of project management principles and ability to apply to engineering management.
- Safety Awareness: Commitment to safety and a strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations, in particular Safety in Design.
- Technical Skills: Discipline specific engineering competencies and familiarity with engineering software, tools and principles.
- Delivery Teams: Ensure engineering activities support project delivery timelines. Support Delivery Teams in technical facets of Execution and Commissioning.
- Studies and Programs: Align engineering solutions with strategic planning and studies.
External Interfaces
- Engineering Service Providers (ESP): Manage scopes and oversee ESP compliance and performance
- Schedule Management: Ensure on-time delivery and minimize lead time of Engineering packages.
- Cost Control: Track cost performance and managing claims for engineering packages.
- Quality Assurance: Quality of Engineering Deliverables
