Full Time | 6 Month Contract | Melbourne's North West

About the Role

Reporting to the Procurement Team Leader, you will provide specialist procurement advice and support, facilitate tender processes, manage contracts, and contribute to strategic procurement initiatives in a local council. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure compliant, efficient and value-driven procurement outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide end-to-end procurement advice and support across a range of categories.
  • Facilitate tender and sourcing activities, including evaluation processes.
  • Manage multiple procurement projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Prepare, compile and administer contracts and procurement documentation.
  • Support sustainable procurement and category management initiatives.
  • Deliver procurement training and guidance to internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain procurement systems, purchasing processes and related administration.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement practices and procedures.
About You
  • Tertiary qualification in Procurement, Business, Commerce or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in procurement, tendering and contract administration.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement legislation, policies and best practice.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
  • Experience using eProcurement, financial or contract management systems.
  • Understanding of sustainable procurement principles.
  • Experience within the public sector or local government will be highly regarded.
