About the Role In this role, you will contribute to complex policy development and reform initiatives aligned with strategic government priorities. You will provide high-quality advice, undertake detailed policy analysis, and support the delivery of key projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop contemporary policy, strategies, and projects
- Undertake complex policy analysis, development, and implementation
- Prepare and review high-quality policy documents, reports, briefings, and correspondence
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Design and lead engagement activities and consultation processes
- Use data and technical inputs to inform recommendations
- Contribute to governance frameworks and decision-making processes
- Support delivery of reform projects in line with organisational priorities
- Demonstrated experience in strategic policy development
- Experience delivering policy reform, programs, or projects
- Strong understanding of legislation and policy frameworks
- Experience in strategic commissioning
- Excellent analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication (government style preferred)
- Proven ability to interpret data and prepare complex policy outputs
- Ability to work collaboratively with limited direction
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
- Understanding of Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPR)
- Experience working in government or large public sector environments
