About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced Plant Operator to join a government organisation based in Ballina for an immediate start. This is a field-based position working a 4-day week (6:30am – 4:40pm) and is a casual position.
 
Working within a civil construction and maintenance team, you will primarily operate excavators and other plant equipment while also assisting with a variety of road and infrastructure maintenance activities. This role will suit a safety-focused individual who enjoys hands-on outdoor work and takes pride in delivering high-quality outcomes for the community.
 
 
Duties
• Operate excavators and other plant equipment to support civil construction and maintenance projects
• Undertake road and roadside maintenance activities, including drainage, signage and general infrastructure works
• Perform labouring duties as required to support project delivery
• Conduct pre-start checks and maintain plant and equipment in a safe and efficient manner
• Work collaboratively within a team environment to achieve daily work objectives
 
 
Skills and Experience
• Highly competent excavator operator experience
• Ability and willingness to undertake physical labouring duties
• HR Licence & White Card
• Experience operating a variety of civil construction plant and machinery (highly regarded)
• Previous experience within the civil construction industry (desirable)
