Malvern | $42 per hour + super | Short-term contract
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to support a local government organisation in Malvern. This role will provide short-term payroll coverage through to 28 August, supporting a large and dynamic workforce.
You will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely payroll services for a workforce of approximately 1,060 employees. This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance, supporting employees, and maintaining high standards of service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Process fortnightly payroll, ensuring compliance with superannuation, taxation, and statutory obligations
- Provide accurate advice and respond to payroll-related enquiries with a strong customer service focus
- Interpret and apply Enterprise Agreements, Awards, and relevant legislation
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information
- Support internal and external stakeholders with responsive and professional service
- Contribute to process improvements within payroll and customer service functions
- Demonstrated experience in a Payroll Officer role or similar
- Strong working knowledge of payroll systems such as Aurion, OrgPlus, TechOne, or similar
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- A collaborative approach and willingness to support team members
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment
