About the role
Chandler Macleod is seeking an experienced MR Truck Driver (or higher licence) to join a state government client. This is an excellent opportunity for a safety-focused and reliable driver to contribute to essential road maintenance activities across the region.
 
This casual role offers an immediate start with full time hours and a 9-day fortnight, you will operate MR vehicles and support road maintenance crews in delivering critical infrastructure projects. The position will involve periods of working away from the depot, with accommodation and working away allowances on offer.
 
 
Duties
  • Safely operate MR trucks and tow trailers within vehicle towing capacities
  • Assist with road maintenance and general labouring activities when not driving
  • Undertake pre-start vehicle inspections and maintain vehicle safety standards
  • Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and traffic management requirements
  • Work collaboratively with maintenance crews to complete projects efficiently
  • Participate in remote work activities, including overnight stays away from the depot when required
 

Skills and Experience
  • Current MR Driver's Licence or higher is essential
  • Previous experience operating MR or larger trucks in a civil, construction, or road maintenance environment
  • Construction White Card
  • Current Work Safely in the Construction Industry (WOF) certification
  • Current Traffic Controller (TC) ticket or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to pass a National Police Check
  • Physically fit and willing to perform labouring and road maintenance duties as required
  • Flexibility to travel and camp away from the depot when required
