Are you an experienced Mine Geologist looking to join a well-established copper-gold project that has now entered the Feasibility Study phase?
We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused geologist to join Rio Tinto on a collaborative technical team, providing an excellent opportunity to gain valuable exposure to a significant resource project while enjoying strong camp facilities, a supportive culture, and excellent continuity of work.

The Role
This position will be focused primarily on:
- Core logging and core processing within a copper-gold mineralised system
- Geological interpretation and data collection to support ongoing study work
- Working predominantly within the site core yard environment
- Assisting with RC and diamond drilling programs as required
- Maintaining accurate geological records and databases
- Contributing to geological reporting and technical assessments
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Previous experience in core logging and core processing
- Exposure to copper-gold systems highly regarded
- Working knowledge of:
- acQuire
- ArcGIS
- Leapfrog
- Experience supporting RC and diamond drilling programs
- Strong attention to detail and data quality standards
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
Experience in drilling operations and contractor management will be highly regarded, particularly with Diamond Drilling programs. While experience with Water Well, Hydro or RC drilling is not essential, exposure to these drilling methods will be viewed favourably.
