Step into a hands‑on Mine Engineer – Short Term Planning (Development) role where your designs directly support safe, efficient and compliant open pit mining operations. This opportunity suits a practical, site‑focused engineer who enjoys working closely with operations and seeing their work executed in the field.
As a Mine Engineer – STP, you will be responsible for producing detailed mine development designs and sequencing that guide land preparation activities from clearing and SOBR through to drill and blast. A strong focus of the role is ensuring drainage and water management controls are built into all designs, so runoff remains within approved development areas.

About the role
- Prepare detailed development designs for ramps, access roads, pads, stockpiles, SOBR, backfill and drill & blast areas
- Develop clear sequencing for short‑term development areas
- Integrate drainage and environmental controls into all designs
- Produce clear maps and work packs for execution teams
- Liaise with planners, survey, supervisors and environmental stakeholders
- Update designs in response to changing conditions and constraints
- Degree qualified in Mining Engineering (or related discipline)
- Experience in open pit mine development or short‑term planning
- Strong mine design skills using Deswik, MineSight, GIS or similar software
- Understanding of environmental approvals, drainage and compliance
- Clear communicator with a practical, execution‑focused mindset
- Must have full Australian working rights
