Mine Engineer – STP (Development)

Location: Huntly, Western Australia ( Not a FIFO role)
Roster: Monday to Friday | 8 hours per day (36 hours per week)
Hourly Rate:   Market Related Plus Superannuation
Contract Duration:  7 Months | ASAP Start

Step into a hands‑on Mine Engineer – Short Term Planning (Development) role where your designs directly support safe, efficient and compliant open pit mining operations. This opportunity suits a practical, site‑focused engineer who enjoys working closely with operations and seeing their work executed in the field.

As a Mine Engineer – STP, you will be responsible for producing detailed mine development designs and sequencing that guide land preparation activities from clearing and SOBR through to drill and blast. A strong focus of the role is ensuring drainage and water management controls are built into all designs, so runoff remains within approved development areas.

About the role
  • Prepare detailed development designs for ramps, access roads, pads, stockpiles, SOBR, backfill and drill & blast areas
  • Develop clear sequencing for short‑term development areas
  • Integrate drainage and environmental controls into all designs
  • Produce clear maps and work packs for execution teams
  • Liaise with planners, survey, supervisors and environmental stakeholders
  • Update designs in response to changing conditions and constraints
Your Background
  • Degree qualified in Mining Engineering (or related discipline)
  • Experience in open pit mine development or short‑term planning
  • Strong mine design skills using Deswik, MineSight, GIS or similar software
  • Understanding of environmental approvals, drainage and compliance
  • Clear communicator with a practical, execution‑focused mindset
  • Must have full Australian working rights
