Our Client is actively seeking a highly experienced Marine Civil Infrastructure Maintenance Supervisor to lead the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance across inner harbour berth and jetty infrastructure. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring marine civil assets are maintained to the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational performance, while effectively managing contractors, budgets, and schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day maintenance activities on marine civil assets including:
- Piles, suspended decks, superstructures, and seawalls
- Associated port marine infrastructure works and minor project delivery
- Plan, scope, and manage both planned (PM) and reactive maintenance activities
- Supervise marine civil contractors undertaking maintenance and project works, including shutdowns
- Prepare detailed scopes of work for maintenance and project execution
- Review inspection reports and maintain asset registers to inform maintenance planning
- Identify and assess maintenance needs, including safety risks and compliance requirements
- Coordinate site access, inductions, permits, and contractor mobilisation
- Act as on-site surveillance officer, ensuring contractor compliance with:
- Design specifications
- Quality Management Plans
- Safety Management Plans
- Statutory and regulatory requirements
- Assist in the preparation of maintenance budgets and work schedules
- Maintain and update asset registers, including completed works and condition changes
- Liaise with maintenance planners to:
- Provide updates on ongoing tasks
- Identify new work requirements
- Coordinate asset availability for repairs
- Trade qualification in Civil or Marine Construction, or extensive relevant experience (15+ years)
- Demonstrated experience in marine civil infrastructure construction or maintenance
- Proven experience in maintenance supervision and contractor management
- Strong background in contract administration
- Valid ‘C’ or ‘CA’ class driver’s licence
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction, or related discipline
- Qualifications in Contract Administration, Project Management, or Maintenance Management
- Diving qualifications
- Strong knowledge of marine civil maintenance practices and asset management
- Solid understanding of statutory legislation and maintenance regulations
- Demonstrated knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety legislation and the ability to enforce a safe work environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation abilities
- Proactive, solution-focused approach with sound problem-solving capability
