Maintenance Storeperson / Spare Parts Storeperson

Permanent Full-Time | Autonomous Role

We are currently seeking an experienced and highly organised Maintenance Storeperson to join a large and fast-paced food manufacturing operation based in Laverton North.
This is a newly created permanent full-time role responsible for the day-to-day management of maintenance spare parts, inventory control, purchasing coordination, and warehouse support for the site’s maintenance team.
The successful candidate will take ownership of establishing and maintaining best-practice stores processes while ensuring the efficient operation of a well-structured maintenance stores area within a large warehouse environment.
This role will suit someone who enjoys working autonomously, takes pride in organisation and accuracy, and has experience within spare parts, maintenance, warehouse, or industrial inventory environments.

About the Role
This is a hands-on stores and inventory position focused on supporting maintenance operations through accurate inventory management, purchasing coordination, and spare parts control.
You will be responsible for managing approximately 1900 - 3000 maintenance-related SKUs including conveyor components, sensors, belts, fasteners, and other critical spare parts required to minimise operational downtime.
This is largely a standalone role requiring initiative, accountability, and strong organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities Maintenance Stores & Inventory Managemen t
  • Manage and maintain maintenance spare parts inventory
  • Ensure accurate real-time inventory control for all stock movements
  • Conduct regular stocktakes, cycle counts, and reconciliations
  • Ensure all stock is correctly stored, labelled, and easily identifiable
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised stores area
  • Monitor stock levels and proactively identify shortages
Warehouse & Dispatch Coordination
  • Pick, pack, and dispatch maintenance spare parts
  • Coordinate incoming deliveries and stock receipting
  • Organise outgoing freight and shipments
  • Conduct quality checks on incoming and outgoing goods
  • Unload and store deliveries safely and efficiently
Purchasing & Supplier Coordination
  • Raise and manage purchase orders
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, and delivery schedules
  • Coordinate urgent parts procurement where required
  • Provide accurate costing and delivery information to internal stakeholders
  • Ensure critical spare parts are available to support production uptime
Maintenance & Technical Support
  • Interpret spare parts requirements for maintenance personnel
  • Provide basic support and guidance regarding parts and components
  • Respond professionally to phone, email, and internal enquiries
  • Work closely with maintenance teams to minimise downtime
Systems & Administration
  • Utilise CMMS/MEX systems for inventory and asset tracking
  • Maintain accurate system data and inventory records
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the stores function
  • Candidates with ERP/WMS exposure such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite are encouraged to apply
General Duties
  • Conduct safety walks and support compliance activities
  • Operate warehouse equipment including reach forklift
  • Assist with maintaining high housekeeping and safety standards
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have previous experience within maintenance stores, spare parts, warehouse administration, inventory control, or industrial warehousing environments.

Essential Requirements
  • Current LF Forklift Licence
  • Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Highly Regarded
  • Experience within FMCG or food manufacturing environments
  • Exposure to HACCP/GMP standards
  • Background in maintenance, automation, mechanical, or industrial spare parts
  • Automotive or industrial parts warehousing experience
  • CMMS or maintenance system experience
Important Information
  • This is not a production-based role
  • The role is focused purely on stores, warehouse, inventory, and spare parts management
  • The stores area is well organised and clearly structured
  • Must be comfortable learning a wide range of maintenance components and spare parts
  • Real-time inventory accuracy is critical to the success of the role
