Chandler Macleod is seeking an experienced Machinist for an exciting 9-month contract opportunity with a leading Defence client based in Henderson, WA. This role is ideal for a trade-qualified machinist
with strong CNC milling and turning
experience, ideally gained within Defence, submarines, marine, or heavy industrial
environments.
About the Role
You will be responsible for producing high-quality machined components safely, accurately, and efficiently using CNC equipment, tooling, and a range of materials. Working in a highly regulated Defence environment, you will interpret technical drawings, set up machinery and parts, operate CNC lathes and/or mills, measure and record dimensions, and complete maintenance tasks
as required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
• Australian citizenship, essential for Defence site requirements
• Mechanical Trade Certificate
in Machining or Fitting/Machining
• Proven experience operating CNC lathes and/or mills
• Experience with both milling and turning
• Ability to set up CNC machinery
and components accurately
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Ability to measure, record, and verify part dimensions
• Experience completing maintenance tasks
• White Card
• Confined Space Certification, with VOC
completed within the past 6 months
• National Police Clearance
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment
• Defence, submarine, marine, or heavy industrial experience, highly regarded
• Experience with Okuma CNC machines, highly desirable
