Machine Operator – Steel Manufacturing | Mayfield Join a leading Australian steel manufacturer with long-term career opportunities.

Our Client is seeking reliable, safety-focused Machine Operators to join their operations team at their Mayfield site.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a supportive and collaborative team within a well-established steel manufacturing environment. Full training is provided, with genuine opportunities for ongoing employment and permanent placement for the right candidates.

About the Role As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating fixed and mobile plant equipment used in the manufacture and processing of steel products. You will work to strict safety, quality, and production standards while contributing to the efficient operation of the site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate wire drawing, fencing, galvanising, and fence post press machinery
  • Operate equipment used to bend and cut bar, steel, and mesh products
  • Monitor production processes to achieve quality and efficiency targets
  • Conduct basic equipment inspections and report maintenance or fault issues
  • Safely handle steel products, including manual handling of up to 20kg
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment
  • Comply with all site safety, quality, and operational procedures
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience as a Machine Operator or within a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment
  • A current Forklift Licence (essential prior to commencement)
  • The physical ability to perform manual handling tasks, including standing, bending, squatting, and lifting throughout your shift
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow processes and work instructions
  • A reliable work ethic with a strong commitment to workplace safety
  • Availability to work rotating 8-hour shifts across day, afternoon, and night shifts on a 5-day roster
