Overview:
We are working with a well-regarded engineering consultancy delivering complex projects across
energy, utilities, transport, and defence sectors nationally. With a strong pipeline of work, they are
seeking an experienced HV Secondary Engineer to support protection and control system design
and delivery.
The Opportunity:
This role involves contributing to the design, analysis, and delivery of high-voltage protection
systems, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across various projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform power system studies including load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, and arc
flash analysis
• Develop secondary system designs including schematics and single line diagrams
• Undertake CT/VT calculations and equipment sizing
• Develop relay protection schemes and settings reports
• Assist in specifying and selecting protection equipment
• Coordinate with primary engineers, stakeholders, and project teams
• Support tender submissions and proposals
• Mentor junior engineers
About You:
• Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Experience in HV secondary / protection & control design
• Knowledge of relays, SCADA, and control systems
• Experience in utilities, infrastructure, transport, or defence sectors
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
Desirable:
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards (CPEng, RPEV, RPEQ)
• Experience with TNSP/DNSP
• MTM Accreditation (Designer/Checker)
