Hourly Rate:$61.00 per hour + super
Contract Term: ASAP Start – 2 October 2026
Location: Lilydale
Work Arrangement: Full time hours, primarily office-based, with flexibility to work from home 1 day per week (subject to business and team requirements; not available on Mondays or Fridays)
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Health, Safety & Wellbeing Business Partner to support the development of a strong safety culture across a diverse organisation.
As a trusted advisor and safety leader, you will work closely with stakeholders to strengthen health, safety and wellbeing capability, provide expert guidance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that support safe and healthy workplaces.
This role requires a proactive and solutions-focused professional who can partner with leaders, employees and stakeholders to identify risks, implement effective controls, and promote best-practice health and safety outcomes.
Please note that candidates located within approximately 45 minutes of Lilydale will be highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage incidents from initial notification through to investigation, reporting and corrective action implementation
- Monitor and manage safety-related enquiries and support requests
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits and risk assessments
- Investigate incidents and identify root causes, recommendations and corrective actions
- Partner with stakeholders to identify risks and opportunities for improvement
- Provide expert advice on workplace health and safety legislation, compliance requirements and safe work practices
- Deliver training, education and coaching to build safety capability across the organisation
- Support the implementation of health, safety and wellbeing plans and initiatives
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders where required
- Contribute to the ongoing review and improvement of health and safety management systems, policies and procedures
- Maintain safety systems, records and reporting requirements
- Support business continuity and emergency management activities as required
- Strong experience as a Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor, Consultant or Business Partner
- Proven experience conducting incident investigations and risk assessments
- Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience leading workplace inspections, audits and corrective action programs
- Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and coaching skills
- The ability to analyse data, identify trends and provide practical recommendations
- Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives and safety culture outcomes
- Excellent communication, consultation and relationship-building skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline, or equivalent extensive industry experience
- Previous experience in a generalist health, safety and wellbeing role
- Experience developing, implementing and reviewing health and safety management systems
- Understanding of risk management principles and workplace hazard identification
- Experience providing advice across a complex and diverse workforce environment
- Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, policies and standards
- Experience delivering training, education and safety awareness programs
- Current driver's licence
- Current Working With Children Check and Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
