Geospatial Analyst (GIS) – Temporary 4 Week Assignment
Nunawading | Full-time, Onsite | $50 per hour + super

About the Opportunity
We’re partnering with a local council to appoint an experienced Geospatial Analyst for a short-term 4-week backfill assignment.
This role will support the ongoing delivery and maintenance of the organisation’s GIS function, with a strong focus on working through and maintaining high-volume spatial data.
This is a full-time, on-site position requiring someone who can step in quickly, work independently, and deliver accurate outcomes within defined timeframes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and support the organisation’s GIS, including enhancements to existing applications
  • Manage and analyse spatial data, ensuring accuracy, integrity and accessibility
  • Support integration between GIS and corporate systems
  • Undertake spatial analysis and produce high-quality mapping outputs
  • Provide advice and support to internal stakeholders on GIS and spatial data use
  • Develop and maintain GIS documentation and data processes
  • Work through large and complex datasets efficiently and accurately
About You
You will be a hands-on GIS professional who is confident working with data at volume and comfortable operating independently in a short-term environment.

To be successful, you will have:
  • Proven experience using Esri ArcGIS(essential)
  • Experience working with SQL and/or spatial databases
  • Strong capability in spatial data management, analysis and mapping
  • High attention to detail, particularly when working with complex datasets
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
Desirable
  • Experience within local government
  • Familiarity with Vicmap or similar datasets
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in GIS, Spatial Science or similar
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Ability to obtain a Criminal History Check and Working with Children Check
