We're currently seeking an experienced Geoscientist  for an initial 3-month contract at Rio Tinto's Gudai-Darri operation. This role offers the opportunity to work with a leading mining company, with potential for extension and movement across other Rio Tinto projects.

About the Role
This is a hands-on geoscientist position supporting open pit operations. You will be actively involved in grade control activities, geological interpretation, and ensuring accurate grade predictions to support mine planning and production.
Key Requirements
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Geology(Master's Degree highly regarded)
  • Minimum 5 years' mining geology experience
  • Strong open pit mining experience preferred
  • Proven experience using Vulcan
  • Solid understanding of grade control and grade prediction
  • Hands-on approach with a willingness to work closely with operations
  • Experience in mining geology rather than hydrogeology
Ideal Candidate
You are a practical and proactive geoscientist who enjoys being in the field and working closely with mining operations.
You bring strong technical capability in grade control, confidence using Vulcan, and experience gained within open pit mining environments.
