About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant for a 6-month contract with a large public-sector organisation. This role will support financial reporting, compliance, and day-to-day accounting operations within a collaborative finance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparation of annual financial statements and statutory reporting
- Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and relevant legislation
- Prepare and support GST, BAS and FBT reporting requirements
- Perform general ledger reconciliations and maintain financial data integrity
- Support audits and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to financial reporting, analysis and system improvements
- Degree-qualified in Accounting, Commerce or related discipline
- CPA/CA qualified or working towards
- Demonstrated experience in financial accounting and reporting
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards, GST and FBT
- Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
