A well-established, community-focused not-for-profit organisation on the Mid North Coast is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join its team.
This is a hands-on senior role where you will take ownership of financial integrity, compliance and day-to-day operations, while supporting a small, collaborative finance team.
About the role
Reporting to the Manager of Finance and Business Support, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong controls, and supporting business decision-making across the organisation.
You will also provide leadership across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and administrative functions, helping build a connected and high-performing team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing general ledger, reconciliations, and AP/AR processes
- Maintaining balance sheet integrity and delivering accurate month-end reporting
- Managing BAS obligations and supporting regulatory compliance reporting
- Assisting with external audits and maintaining financial records
- Partnering with operational leaders to support financial understanding and performance
- Leading, mentoring and supporting a small finance team, including cross-training and coverage planning
You are a technically strong and approachable finance professional who enjoys being hands-on and working closely with both your team and the broader business.
You will bring:
- 5+ years’ experience in accounting, including a senior or supervisory role
- Strong experience in reconciliations, reporting and financial controls
- Proven ability to lead or mentor a small team
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (e.g. Epicor, SLR highly regarded)
- A collaborative, calm and supportive leadership style
- Accounting qualifications (CPA or CA highly regarded)
- Experience in aged care, healthcare or not-for-profit environments will be highly regarded but is not essential.
