About the Role
We are seeking motivated and reliable Field Surveyors to support a large-scale floor space and employment survey across the Sydney local area. This is an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates looking to gain practical experience in urban planning, GIS, architecture, data collection, or related disciplines.
Working primarily in the field, you will visit business premises, collect survey information, conduct visual inspections, and accurately record data using Android tablet devices and approved survey tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct visits to businesses and commercial premises within designated areas.
  • Request access to sites using approved survey scripts and procedures.
  • Collect, record, and enter survey data accurately.
  • Conduct visual inspections of buildings and business activities.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Project Coordinator regarding progress and issues.
  • Complete allocated tasks in line with survey guidelines and project timelines.
  • Represent the organisation professionally and courteously when engaging with businesses and members of the public.
About You
You will ideally be:
  • Studying towards, recently completed, or currently enrolled in a degree related to:
    • Urban Planning
    • Architecture
    • Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
    • Property
    • Geography
    • Or a related discipline
  • Comfortable working independently in a field-based environment.
  • Able to follow instructions and established procedures accurately.
  • Confident communicating with business owners and members of the public.
  • Detail-oriented with strong data entry and observational skills.
  • Comfortable using tablets and basic digital data collection tools.
Requirements
  • Full Australian working rights.
  • Ability to work onsite and travel throughout the survey area.
  • Availability to work between 20 and 40 hours per week during the survey period.
  • Ability to work outdoors and walk between locations as required.
