Excavator Operator – Gove Peninsula (NT) | 3:1 FIFO | Major Demolition Project
Chandler Macleod is seeking experienced, multi‑skilled Excavator Operators to support a large‑scale demolition and civil works at the Gove Refinery in the Northern Territory. This is a rare opportunity to work on an industrial decommissioning project with a contractor known for safety and professionalism.
About the Role
- Operating Volvo 38T, 48T, 75T and Hitachi 890 excavators
- Using Rock Hammer attachments for breaking concrete foundations
- Material downsizing, concrete screening and loadout
- Supporting civil and earthworks teams across multiple work fronts
- Working within a high‑performance crew with a strong safety culture
What’s on Offer
- 3:1 roster (RDO on Day 14)
- 10‑hour days
- FIFO from capital cities for experienced interstate candidates
- Accommodation, meals, and flights provided
- Consistent roster & stability, 4–6 months ongoing with potential extension
Pay & Benefits
- $54.50 - $63.50 per hour casual (inclusive of 25% casual loading)
- Weekly pay cycle
- Immediate start available
- Potential for night shift (with applicable loadings)

What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Demonstrated experience in civil and/or demolition environments
- Excavator ticket + proven experience using Rock Hammer
- Additional machinery experience highly regarded (Moxy, Haul Truck, Skid Steer)
- Construction White Card
- Valid Australian Driver’s Licence (HR/HC desirable)
- Current medical (within 6 months) or ability to pass pre‑employment medical
- Full Australian working rights
- Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and professional conduct
