Become a key member of staff for a local council in Melbourne's North West to protect and promote community well-being. You will act act as an officer responsible for inspecting premises, managing public health risks, investigating nuisance complaints, and enforcing environmental legislation.
Knowledge of:
- Food Act - able to inspect food premises, conduct food sampling and conduct food complaint investigations
- Public Health & Wellbeing Act - inspect PHWB premises and to conduct PHWB premises complaint investigations
- Tobacco Act - conduct education visits at retailer, and eating/drinking establishments
- Degree in Applied Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent with experience as an Environmental Health Officer
- Ability to interpret and apply health legislation in a practical and consistent manner
- Ability to plan, prioritise and organise work, both on an individual and team basis, within a set timetable
- Developed public relations, oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work and actively contribute as a team member
