Chandler Macleod is currently seeking experienced Electrical and E&I Technicians for immediate starts across Rio Tinto operations in Gladstone, including Yarwun Refinery and Boyne Smelters.

This is an excellent opportunity to secure a site-based role within a high-performing, safety-driven industrial environment, offering a multiple rosters and shifts.

Role Overview


You will join established maintenance teams supporting critical plant operations across large-scale aluminium and refining assets. The work focuses on maintaining safe, reliable production through preventative maintenance, fault finding, and operational support within structured systems and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Electrical and instrumentation maintenance across fixed plant and processing systems
  • Work on PLCs (including Allen Bradley), VSDs, and automated equipment
  • Instrument calibration, testing, commissioning, and fault finding
  • Support defect elimination and asset reliability initiatives
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with site standards and procedures
Key Requirements
  • Electrical Trade Qualification (mandatory)
  • E&I Technician experience highly regarded
  • Heavy industry or large-scale processing plant experience preferred
  • Strong safety focus and ability to work within strict compliance environments
  • White Card essential
  • Working at Heights, Confined Space, Forklift (FL), and EWP tickets highly regarded
