About the Role
As an E&I Project Coordinator, you will provide on-site leadership and coordination across electrical and instrumentation project activities, ensuring contractors and stakeholders work collaboratively to achieve project objectives. You will support construction, engineering, safety, quality, and commissioning teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage project implementation activities on site.
- Oversee multiple contractors and site teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Support Construction Leads and Project Engineers with contractor performance, reporting, cost, quality, schedule, and safety outcomes.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with site standards, policies, HSEQ requirements, and management systems.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential schedule impacts, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout project delivery.
- Support QA/QC activities, including inspections, verification processes, and compliance with specifications.
- Assist in developing punch lists and preparing for commissioning activities.
- Liaise with contractors and operations teams during commissioning and handover phases.
- Verify contractor timesheets and daily work records.
- Prepare daily site reports, handover notes, and project updates.
- Participate in operational and shutdown coordination meetings as required.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating construction or capital projects within mining, resources, or heavy industrial environments.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary works including electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, structural, civil, piping, and building projects.
- Exposure to brownfield construction environments.
- Sound understanding of project delivery, contractor management, and site coordination.
- A strong commitment to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Previous experience with Rio Tinto project delivery systems and processes will be highly regarded.
