We are currently seeking an experienced Digital Design Lead to join a local government organisation based in Lilydale on a short-term contract through to September 2026.
This role will support the ongoing development and improvement of digital communication channels, including the organisation’s website and intranet, with a strong focus on accessibility, usability and content quality.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead and support website content updates and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to website refresh or redevelopment activities, including content audits and rewrites
  • Provide advice on digital communications, user experience and content standards
  • Manage and maintain website content, including campaign and project microsites
  • Monitor and report on performance using tools such as Google Analytics
  • Ensure content meets accessibility requirements (WCAG) and relevant legislation
  • Work collaboratively with technical teams and internal stakeholders across the organisation
  • Support and guide one direct report to meet priorities and deliver outcomes
About you:
  • Demonstrated experience in a digital, web or online communications role
  • Experience using OpenCities (or similar enterprise CMS platforms)
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Strong experience writing web content for SEO and accessibility (plain English, WCAG compliance)
  • Experience supporting website refresh or redevelopment projects
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
