We are currently seeking an experienced Digital Design Lead to join a local government organisation based in Lilydale on a short-term contract through to September 2026.
This role will support the ongoing development and improvement of digital communication channels, including the organisation’s website and intranet, with a strong focus on accessibility, usability and content quality.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and support website content updates and continuous improvement initiatives
- Contribute to website refresh or redevelopment activities, including content audits and rewrites
- Provide advice on digital communications, user experience and content standards
- Manage and maintain website content, including campaign and project microsites
- Monitor and report on performance using tools such as Google Analytics
- Ensure content meets accessibility requirements (WCAG) and relevant legislation
- Work collaboratively with technical teams and internal stakeholders across the organisation
- Support and guide one direct report to meet priorities and deliver outcomes
- Demonstrated experience in a digital, web or online communications role
- Experience using OpenCities (or similar enterprise CMS platforms)
- Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS
- Strong experience writing web content for SEO and accessibility (plain English, WCAG compliance)
- Experience supporting website refresh or redevelopment projects
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to prioritise effectively and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
