Key Responsibilities
- Assess development application referrals, with a focus on drainage and flooding impacts
- Provide administrative and technical support to the Drainage Development Assessment team
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding development applications
- Monitor and manage incoming DA referrals, ensuring timely processing
- Complete tasks within council systems (TechnologyOne, CM9) accurately and within required timeframes
- Maintain organised and compliant records in line with council procedures
- Respond to enquiries and correspondence within service level timeframes
- Contribute to ongoing improvement of engineering processes and specifications
About You
Essential Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering
- Proven experience assessing development applications within a local council environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to resolve conflict and negotiate outcomes
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with TechnologyOne, CM9 and GIS systems
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Excellent time management, organisation and attention to detail
- Experience using the NSW Planning Portal
- Knowledge of relevant planning frameworks, including:
- Development Control Plans (DCPs)
- Local Government Act
