An opportunity is available for an experienced Demand Officer / Supply & Demand Planner to join a major utilities organisation based in Parramatta. This role sits within the Procurement & Supply Chain function and is responsible for forecasting demand, optimising inventory levels, and ensuring critical materials are available to support business operations.
Working closely with internal stakeholders and supply chain teams, you will manage inventory planning activities, review stock requirements, maintain material master data, and support supply chain continuity during planned works, seasonal activities, and emergency events.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilise inventory optimisation tools to maintain optimal stock levels
- Develop and maintain demand forecasts using historical trends and operational requirements
- Review stock shortages and stock out risks and implement solutions
- Work with Supply Chain teams to expedite urgent orders
- Monitor and remediate MRP exceptions
- Review inventory requirements for planned works and operational activities
- Manage material master data including creation, enrichment and lifecycle management
- Review and address slow-moving and obsolete inventory
- Analyse supplier performance and inventory availability metrics
- Support emergency response planning and seasonal inventory requirements
- Collaborate with stakeholders regarding stocked inventory versus direct sourcing requirements
- Experience in a Demand Planning, Inventory Planning, Supply Planning or Inventory Control role
- Strong understanding of inventory optimisation and forecasting principles
- Experience working with MRP systems and inventory management tools
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
- Experience maintaining master data and inventory records
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills
- Supply Chain, Logistics or Demand Planning qualification highly regarded (Cert IV or above preferred)
