Our client is a globally recognised resources organisation and one of Australia's leading mining operators. With a strong project pipeline and ongoing investment across major operations, they are seeking an experienced Cost Specialist to join their high-performing Project Services team.

About the Role Reporting to the Project Controls Lead, you will be responsible for delivering accurate cost management, forecasting and performance reporting across a portfolio of brownfield and greenfield mining projects.
You will work closely with Project Managers, Contractors and key stakeholders to ensure project costs are effectively monitored, controlled and communicated throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project cost reports and dashboards
- Monitor project budgets, commitments, accruals and actual expenditure
- Analyse cost performance and identify risks and opportunities
- Support monthly forecasting and project estimate updates
- Track and report project progress against approved budgets
- Provide cost control and commercial support to project teams
- Assist with change management and variance analysis
- Ensure compliance with project controls processes and governance requirements
- Previous experience in a Cost Control, Cost Engineering or Project Controls position
- Background within mining, resources, oil & gas, infrastructure or major capital projects
- Strong knowledge of project cost management principles and methodologies
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with project controls systems
- Exceptional analytical and reporting capabilities
- Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders across multiple disciplines
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Commerce, Finance, Engineering, Project Management or a related field
