About the role:
We are seeking an engaging, safety and productivity focused Contractor Management Supervisor to join our Utilities project team – focusing on town electrical infrastructure projects upgrading critical town infrastructure with voltages of up to 33kV. This role presents a fantastic opportunity to draw on your people leadership skills, coupled with your technical knowledge, to coordinate the safe execution of work in line with the project schedule. You will have a strong safety leadership focus ensuring the safe installation and commissioning of new electrical infrastructure within our Pilbara towns. This role is an excellent opportunity to showcase your influencing and stakeholder engagement skills. Working on an 8:6 FIFO roster.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee Contractor Management and the Iron Ore 5 Steps of CMS.
- Be an inspiring role model and coach for positive behaviours, practices, and processes, whilst providing leadership
- Perform field verifications and interactions, displaying safety leadership
- Ensure work management activities are undertaken in line with the SOW and RTIO work practices and procedures
- Demonstrate an understanding and compliance with the health, safety & environmental policies, procedures and initiatives (e.g. Leadership in the field, critical risk management)
- Pre-Task Hazard Assessment - Understand, Use and Authorise all pre-task hazard tools daily
- Take part in level two risk assessments and manage compliance during execution of the works onsite
- Have previous experience working for Rio Tinto and managing sub-contractors (preferred)
- Proven experience working on infrastructure projects in the Metro or Mining space
- Have minimum 5-years’ experience as a supervisor on construction projects
- Demonstrate understanding of both civil, structural and electrical construction scopes (Greenfields and brownfields environment)
- Demonstrate a strong safety culture
- Hold a current Electrical Trade Certificate (preferred)
- Strong mechanical aptitude with good fault-finding abilities
- High-Risk Licences – Elevated Work Platform, Forklift, Confined Space, Working at Heights
- Previous experience inspecting classified plant and earthmoving equipment (preferred)
- Have a good understanding of the use of SAP (preferred)
- High level of attention to detail and continuous improvement
