We are seeking an experienced Claims & Risk Officer to join a Local Government organisation on a short-term contract.
This role sits within the Risk Team and plays a key role in managing insurance and claims functions across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage insurance and claims matters, liaising with community members, third-party providers, and internal stakeholders
- End-to-end management of community claims and enquiries using internal systems
- Monitor claim progress, including the handling of complex cases
- Respond to internal insurance and claims-related queries
- Contribute to and develop internal reporting
- Provide support across ad hoc risk and claims activities as required
- Demonstrated experience in insurance and claims management(essential)
- Experience managing an insurance portfolio, including coordinating claims and reporting
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks
- Highly developed administrative, organisational, and operational skills
- Experience working with databases and electronic document management systems
- Local Government experience will be highly regarded
