Chandler Macleod is currently seeking a motivated and driven Catering Leading Hand – Assembly to join a fast-paced airline catering operation near Perth Airport.

This is a hands-on leadership role within a high-volume food production environment, ideal for a candidate who thrives in a structured, compliance-focused setting.

About the Role
As a Leading Hand, you will oversee assembly operations while driving performance, quality, and team engagement. You will lead by example while ensuring all food production activities align with strict airline and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead by example and perform all duties of a Senior Catering Attendant
  • Supervise, train, and induct team members across assembly areas
  • Ensure all customer specifications and quality standards are met
  • Monitor productivity and ensure performance targets are achieved
  • Identify and implement process improvements within your team
  • Investigate stock discrepancies and support stock control processes
  • Operate knives and food production machinery safely and efficiently
  • Manage team rosters, ensuring compliance with breaks and shift requirements
  • Complete all required documentation and reporting accurately
  • Ensure compliance with:
    • Galley Loading Plans (GPL)
    • Cart Packing Plans (CPP)
    • Equipment Loading Plans (ELP)
  • Maintain strict adherence to:
    • HACCP & food safety standards
    • HALAL requirements
    • Workplace Health & Safety (WHS)
    • Quarantine & Customs regulations
  • Support other operational areas as required to meet business demands
About You
  • Proven experience working in a food production or catering environment
  • Previous supervisory or Leading Hand experience (highly regarded)
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Sound knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and hygiene standards
  • Basic knife skills and ability to work with production equipment
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
  • Full working rights in Australia
  • Ability to work full-time hours across a rotating 7-day roster
  • Flexible availability (including early mornings, afternoons, weekends)
  • Own reliable transport (site not easily accessible via public transport)
  • Willingness to undergo necessary checks (if required)
