Are you an experienced Chef who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment? We are currently seeking a passionate and reliable chef to join our client's airline catering team in Darwin.
This is a fantastic opportunity and provides a consistent weekday roster and excellent work-life balance.
About the Role
As a Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and assembling a variety of high-quality meals for airline passengers. Working within a busy airline catering operation, you'll play a key role in ensuring meals are prepared to the highest standards while meeting strict production schedules and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with meal assembly and presentation to airline specifications
- Maintain exceptional food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards
- Meet daily production targets and operational deadlines
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure consistency and presentation standards
- Monitor stock levels and assist with food production planning
- Supervise and support Catering Assistants as required
- Work effectively within a high-volume commercial kitchen environment
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery
- Previous experience as a Chef, Chef de Partie, or Production Chef
- Excellent knowledge of breakfast preparation and cooking techniques
- Strong knife skills and food preparation experience
- Experience working in commercial kitchens, hotels, catering, or food production facilities
- Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene, and quality standards
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet production deadlines
- Comfortable working in refrigerated or cold-temperature environments
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment and National Police Clearance
- Full Australian working rights
