Capital Planning Master Scheduler
West Footscray, Melbourne | 6-Month Contract | Up to $85 per hour + Super

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Capital Planning Master Scheduler to join a local government organisation based in Melbourne’s western suburbs.
This role will play a key role in developing and managing the organisation’s 10-Year Capital Works Program, ensuring infrastructure investment is strategically prioritised, financially sustainable and aligned with community and organisational priorities.
This is a strategic capital planning and portfolio scheduling role, focused on program development, prioritisation, forecasting and master scheduling rather than individual project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and ongoing review of the 10-Year Capital Works Program and prioritised project pipeline.
  • Develop and maintain integrated master schedules across planning, design, procurement and delivery.
  • Manage program sequencing, dependencies, critical paths, resource constraints and project readiness.
  • Support capital prioritisation through scenario modelling, forecasting and financial analysis.
  • Prepare multi-year capital delivery forecasts and undertake program reforecasting.
  • Analyse asset, project and financial data to support investment and planning decisions.
  • Prepare executive reports, dashboards and briefing papers for governance and investment forums.
  • Facilitate planning workshops and work closely with stakeholders across multiple capital portfolios.
  • Drive continuous improvement across capital planning, reporting and scheduling processes.
About You:
  • Experience in capital planning, infrastructure planning, asset management or portfolio management.
  • Experience developing and managing long-term capital works or investment programs.
  • Strong program scheduling, sequencing and dependency management skills.
  • Advanced analytical, forecasting and financial modelling capability.
  • Experience preparing executive-level reporting and recommendations.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.
  • Knowledge of local government asset management and capital works governance.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Power BI skills, with experience using planning or scheduling tools.
