An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Capital Planning Master Scheduler to join a local government organisation based in Melbourne’s western suburbs.
This role will play a key role in developing and managing the organisation’s 10-Year Capital Works Program, ensuring infrastructure investment is strategically prioritised, financially sustainable and aligned with community and organisational priorities.
This is a strategic capital planning and portfolio scheduling role, focused on program development, prioritisation, forecasting and master scheduling rather than individual project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and ongoing review of the 10-Year Capital Works Program and prioritised project pipeline.
- Develop and maintain integrated master schedules across planning, design, procurement and delivery.
- Manage program sequencing, dependencies, critical paths, resource constraints and project readiness.
- Support capital prioritisation through scenario modelling, forecasting and financial analysis.
- Prepare multi-year capital delivery forecasts and undertake program reforecasting.
- Analyse asset, project and financial data to support investment and planning decisions.
- Prepare executive reports, dashboards and briefing papers for governance and investment forums.
- Facilitate planning workshops and work closely with stakeholders across multiple capital portfolios.
- Drive continuous improvement across capital planning, reporting and scheduling processes.
- Experience in capital planning, infrastructure planning, asset management or portfolio management.
- Experience developing and managing long-term capital works or investment programs.
- Strong program scheduling, sequencing and dependency management skills.
- Advanced analytical, forecasting and financial modelling capability.
- Experience preparing executive-level reporting and recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.
- Knowledge of local government asset management and capital works governance.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Power BI skills, with experience using planning or scheduling tools.
