This role suits an experienced CA Gen Developer who can deliver quality outcomes across the full software development life cycle and provide technical leadership when needed.
Contract Details:
- Initial contract up to 12 months with a view to permanent
- APS6 Equivalent experience level
- QLD, ACT, VIC, NSW, SA
Work Arrangement
- On-site for the first 6 weeks (Labour Hire Worker expectation).
- After the initial period, a hybrid flexible arrangement may be considered.
- Where approved, WFH arrangements are typically a minimum of 3 days per week on site.
- WFH will only be considered from the location identified, so you can attend the office within a reasonable travel time for ad hoc/emergency requirements.
As a Senior Developer / Software Engineer, you will design, build, test and document software in line with agreed development and security standards, and ensure the quality and functionality of solutions delivered.
Key Duties:
- Create software and technical designs for complex development solutions.
- Develop high-quality, optimised code and maintain the product/codebase long-term.
- Provide technical advice on software development and ongoing maintenance.
- Provide go-live support and ongoing support for complex releases.
- Perform analysis, design, prototyping, unit testing and maintenance activities.
- Analyse technical requirements and contribute to project evaluation with proposed solutions.
- Ensure compliance with endorsed software development methodologies.
- Identify, investigate and resolve complex ICT issues; assess root cause and implement fixes.
- Assess, communicate, monitor and control risk.
- Develop team plans and goals; manage and prioritise workloads to meet timeframes.
- Prepare draft reports and corporate documentation.
- Deliver projects within the assigned area of responsibility, including cost analysis where required.
- Exercise appropriate delegation in accordance with legislation and guidelines (may manage a team).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with Gen development.
- Experience with Cuba or similar large-scale government systems.
- Experience writing and debugging COBOL.
- Experience developing SOAP services, RESTful APIs and MQ integrations.
- Experience in Win32 application development.
- IT degree and/or formal GEN training.
- Must be able to obtain Baseline clearance.
