Duration: 6 months
Pay Rate: $77.95 + Shift Allowances + Penalty Rates
Chandler Macleod is seeking a Trade Boilermaker / Welder for a minimum 6-month contract with a Defence client in Western Australia. The successful candidate will ideally have experience in the defence / marine shipbuilding industry.
Duties:
- Perform fabrication, welding and general maintenance duties
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints
- Set up machinery / welding equipment
- Perform MMAW and GTAW welding techniques to fabricate and repair metal structures
- Measure, cut, shape and assemble metal components
- Operate hand and power tools, grinders, torches, and welding equipment
- Maintain work area cleanliness and follow WHS protocols
- Work independently or as part of a team in the workshop or in onsite environment
Requirements:
- Australian citizenship
- White Card
- Confined Space
- National Police Clearance (less than 3 months)
- Trade Qualification – Cert III Engineering Tradesperson (Fabrication) or equivalent
- 5 years’ experience in a Boilermaker / Welder position
- Experience in the defence / marine shipbuilding industry (preferable)
- Experience using multiple welding processes (MMAW / GTAW)
