Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Asset System Administrator to support the Facilities Maintenance team within a local council environment. This short-term opportunity will focus on coordinating building maintenance activities, supporting service contracts, and contributing to small capital works projects to ensure council-owned and managed facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained.
Working Environment This role involves a mix of office-based and on-site work. You will be working across indoor and outdoor environments and may be required to undertake moderate physical activity in line with safe manual handling practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support across all facets of the Facilities Maintenance team
- Assist in scoping and delivering minor capital works projects under guidance
- Support the management of minor works delivered through maintenance contracts
- Contribute to the day-to-day coordination of facility maintenance contracts, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Obtain and assess quotations in line with procurement policies, recommending suitable service providers
- Previous experience managing minor construction and maintenance activities
- Sound understanding of Occupational Health & Safety legislation and regulations
- Strong customer service skills with experience engaging with stakeholders or the public
- Knowledge of building and facility maintenance practices
- Ability to coordinate contractors and assist with project delivery
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related systems
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
- Qualification in building maintenance or a related discipline (certificate, diploma, or degree)
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
