AO5 Program Performance Advisor
Townsville | Queensland Government | Hybrid Working
12-Month Contract | Possible Extension
$69.21–$75.09 per hour + Super

We're seeking an experienced AO5 Program Performance Advisor to join a Queensland Government team in Townsville. This is a 12-month contract with the potential for extension, offering a hybrid working arrangement and the opportunity to support the successful delivery of key government programs.

About the Role
As the Program Performance Advisor, you will provide high-level governance, reporting and program support to project managers and stakeholders, ensuring the timely and effective delivery of programs while maintaining compliance with organisational policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate governance meetings, including agendas, papers and briefing materials for regional and statewide committees and boards.
  • Prepare meeting minutes, manage action items and support escalation processes.
  • Maintain program and project governance documentation, including change control records.
  • Track and close governance actions.
  • Monitor and update risk, issue and dependency registers.
  • Support governance reporting through accurate and timely program data.
  • Ensure program records and evidence requirements are maintained.
  • Promote consistent governance practices across districts and the region.
  • Support capacity planning and program administration.
  • Coordinate district escalation change requests and monitor progress through governance processes.
  • Prepare executive reporting, briefing materials and governance documentation.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Demonstrated experience in program or project controls, governance, reporting or project support within a complex environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present program data.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Technical Skills
You will have experience using:
  • Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • SharePoint and/or project and program management systems.
  • Governance registers, dashboards and reporting tools.
  • Executive correspondence, including briefing notes, ministerial correspondence and executive documentation.
