Accounts Payable Officer
Melbourne | Hybrid (3 days onsite)
$50 per hour + super
3-month contract

We’re currently partnering with V/Line to recruit an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join their Corporate Services team on a 3-month contract.
The Corporate Services Group plays a key role in supporting the organisation through finance, payroll, procurement, IT, and business operations. This is a great opportunity to contribute to a high-performing team within a well-established public sector organisation.

About the Role As the Accounts Payable Officer, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of vendor transactions, ensuring supplier payments are made in line with agreed terms and internal compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process invoices and ensure accurate coding to relevant accounts
  • Manage supplier payments and ensure deadlines are met
  • Perform purchase order matching and resolve discrepancies
  • Reconcile supplier statements and accounts
  • Assist with batch processing and maintain data accuracy
  • Support audit requirements and maintain strong financial controls
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and suppliers
  • Provide support to the broader Finance team as required
About You
  • 3–5 years’ experience in Accounts Payable
  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, or similar (CPA/CA underway desirable)
  • Experience using JDE (Oracle) highly regarded
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and reconciliation processes
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Proficiency across Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
