Background

A large State Government Department had been impacted through a machinery of Government change and was building its identity and EVP, however attrition and a competitive hiring market meant the Department did not have sufficient employees to meet their requirements.

Our Solutions

Working closely with senior stakeholders across the department, we designed and executed a tailored domestic and international search campaign over twelve months.

This campaign targeted highly experienced senior-level practitioners with relevant tertiary qualifications and professional affiliations.  We leveraged a combination of local account management and a research team to assist with identifying and securing top talent.  Often these processes involved relocated professionals from interstate and overseas.  These sourcing techniques were complemented by Chandler Macleod’s trademarked Best-Fit assessment approach which seeks to deeply understand both the person and the environment to ensure optimal behavioural and performance outcomes.

Our recruitment team also worked in partnership with our peers in Chandler Macleod Consulting where candidates were also screened using a range of quantitative behavioural, personality and cognitive assessment tools to further improve the chances of on-the-job success and mitigate the risk of a mis-hire.

Outcomes

Overall, more than 50 candidates from a highly specialised and niche talent segment were successfully introduced to the Department with the vast majority going on to secure employment.

Importantly, these professionals are making an indelible impact in the community by protecting vulnerable families and children.  The positive spillover effects of this campaign into the community cannot be overstated.

Ultimately, the success of the program was grounded in deeply understanding needs, building long-term relationships, and providing value-adding talent solutions.
