Chandler Macleod has partnered with a well-established and growing manufacturing organisation to appoint an experienced Supply Chain Manager. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing end-to-end supply chain operations and driving performance across procurement, inventory, logistics, and team capability.
About the Role
Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for managing the full supply chain function, ensuring seamless coordination across procurement, production, inventory, and distribution. You will play a critical role in improving operational efficiency, delivering cost savings, supporting business growth, and contributing to strategic decision-making through demand planning, supplier optimisation, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement across the end-to-end supply chain.
About You
- Proven experience in a hands-on Supply Chain Manager role within manufacturing
- Demonstrated success improving supply chain performance and KPIs
- Strong procurement, inventory, and logistics experience
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to develop and motivate teams
- Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Proactive approach to safety and continuous improvement
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management or a related discipline
- Exposure to structured continuous improvement methodologies
Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned to business objectives
- Establish, review, and optimise SOPs to improve efficiency and compliance
- Drive best practice across procurement, inventory, and logistics operations
- Lead procurement activities to achieve cost savings targets
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive terms
- Manage end-to-end purchasing processes, including purchase order oversight
- Build strong supplier relationships and monitor performance against KPIs
- Conduct supplier audits and implement risk mitigation strategies, including dual sourcing
- Analyse historical data and market trends to inform accurate demand forecasts
- Collaborate with sales and production teams to align supply with demand
- Support production planning to ensure timely delivery and optimal resource use
- Monitor stock levels and adjust based on consumption trends and forecasts
- Maintain accurate supplier lead times within ERP systems
- Conduct stocktakes and ensure high inventory accuracy
- Implement effective inventory control practices to prevent stockouts
- Oversee logistics and shipping operations (domestic & international)
- Coordinate freight, warehousing, and transport to optimise cost and service levels
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and business requirements
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce costs and lead times
- Deliver measurable improvements in operational performance and customer outcomes
- Lead, coach, and develop the supply chain team
- Drive a high-performance culture focused on safety, accountability, and results
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure alignment across operations
