Service Delivery Manager
The Agency
The Agency is seeking an experienced Service Delivery Manager to support the delivery and ongoing management of critical IT and digital services within a highly secure government environment.
This is an exciting opportunity for a service-focused professional who thrives in structured, fast-paced operational settings and enjoys working across technical teams, stakeholders, and external providers to ensure services are delivered effectively and securely.
 
Location: QLD, WA, ACT, VIC
Max daily rate:$980.00 – $1,020.00 per day incl. super
 
Role Overview
As the Service Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring IT and digital services operate efficiently on a day-to-day basis.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Ensuring services are reliable and meet agreed performance standards
  • Managing incidents, outages, and operational issues
  • Coordinating service changes to minimise disruption and risk
  • Working closely with internal teams and external vendors to maintain service continuity
  • Ensuring compliance with government governance, policy, and security requirements
  • Monitoring service performance and identifying continuous improvement opportunities
  • Providing clear and structured updates to stakeholders and senior leadership
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
  • Experience in IT service delivery, service management, or IT operations
  • Strong understanding of service performance management and SLA reporting
  • Experience managing incidents, problems, and change processes
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Experience working with vendors, suppliers, or managed service providers
  • A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Ability to operate within strict governance and security frameworks
Desired Background
You may come from a background in:
  • IT, Computer Science, Business, or a related discipline
  • Service management, IT operations, PMO, or service governance environments
  • Government, defence, national security, telecommunications, banking, utilities, or large enterprise organisations
  • Managed service providers (MSPs)
Exposure to ITIL or similar service management frameworks will be highly regarded.
Highly Regarded Experience
Candidates with experience in the following areas are strongly encouraged to apply:
  • Incident, problem, and change management
  • Service reporting and dashboards (e.g. ServiceNow, Power BI)
  • Vendor and supplier management
  • Business continuity and disaster recovery
  • Stakeholder engagement with senior leadership teams
Suitable Titles
Candidates may currently hold or have previously held roles such as:
  • Service Delivery Manager
  • IT Service Manager
  • IT Operations Manager
  • Service Operations Lead
  • ITSM Lead / ITIL Manager
  • Technical Delivery Manager
