We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Revenue Officer to join a local government team on a short-term contract, providing coverage across a busy revenue function.
About the Role:
This role will focus on debt collection and revenue administration, requiring strong attention to detail, confidence in handling sensitive matters, and the ability to work within a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage debt collection activities in line with council policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate data entry and records within revenue systems
- Engage with customers regarding outstanding accounts, including handling challenging conversations professionally
- Interpret and apply relevant regulations and guidelines
- Prepare correspondence and contribute to reporting as required
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and members of the public to resolve queries
- Previous experience in a Revenue Officer / Rates / Collections role, ideally within local government or a government setting
- Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail
- Confident communicator, able to manage difficult conversations with professionalism
- Ability to interpret policies and apply sound judgement in decision-making
- Experience with P&R TechOne is highly regarded
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work autonomously
